Free access to all* FindMyPast databases this weekend

To mark the centenary of the very first Armistice Day, FindMyPast is opening up its UK and Irish, USA, Canadian, Australian and New Zealand, and World records to free access.

*There are just a handful of records (newspapers, PERSI, UK Electoral Registers and Companies House Directors) excluded from this free weekend promotion, but everything else in the FindMyPast database will be free to search and explore.

This includes more than 85 million military records covering the Armed Forces of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. Researchers will be able to search for their ancestors in a variety of documents ranging from service records and pensions to medal rolls, POW records, casualty lists and more.

In addition, all other records – censuses, births, marriages and deaths, wills, schools, social history, travel and migration and employment records – will be free.

The door to the free access will open on Friday, 8 November at midday GMT. You'll need to have a registered account (free). If you don't already have one, just sign up and log in.

Take your pick to explore on on any of the FindMyPast territories. It doesn't matter which you choose because currency options cease to be an issue over a free weekend.
