Irish American Link Conference programme published

The Irish American Link - People, Places and Culture conference will be held from Thursday 12 July to Monday 16 July 2012. Based at the Ard Ri Hotel, Tuam, Co. Galway, this major meeting will explore historic connections between the West of Ireland and North America. It will focus on historical figures, emigration, genealogy, history and culture and sees many of the family history societies from western counties participating in one way or another.

The programme is vast. I defy any genealogist or historian to not find plenty of interest in it. I suspect that most delegates will have trouble choosing between the different session options.

For further information, see the full programme brochure or email Anne Tierney, president of the Old Tuan Society, one of the co-hosts of the event.

The other partner organisers are Drew University (Madison, New Jersey, USA); Galway County Council; The Centre for Irish Studies, National University of Ireland Galway and Galway County Heritage Forum.
