Four new Irish historical newspapers have made their debut in the online BritishNewspaperArchive (BNA) over the last week.
Their addition has helped push the BNA (the British Library's online newspaper collection) through the 57 million pages milestone.
The new titles are:
- Irish Christian Advocate – 1885-1896
- The Weekly Examiner (Belfast) – 1870-92
- Kerry Reporter – 1883–1920
- Dublin Evening Herald 1846 – 1846-1853
The dates shown are the periods each holding is expected to cover when complete.
The titles are also fully searchable within the FindMyPast database to those with a PRO subscription.
The total number of historical Irish papers now held in the BNA is 254 (174 Republic of Ireland / 80 Northern Ireland).
