The Public Record Office of Northern Ireland (PRONI) has advised that it will not operate its usual Thursday Late openings in December and January. Closing times will be 4:45pm (last ordering times 4:15pm) on all five days of the week across those two months.
The last 'late night' of 2015 will be on 26 November, with PRONI staying open until 8:45 pm (last document orders at 8pm).
Another diary note is necessary for PRONI's annual Preservation Week, which will be held Monday 7 to Friday 11 December. It provides an opportunity for PRONI's Preservation & Collections Management team to dedicate time to the vital work that goes on behind the scenes and means that the repository provides a reduced service to visiting researchers. There's no document production throughout the week, but self service microfilms continue to be available in the Search Room.
