I was thrilled to discover that Irish Genealogy News had earned a place in the '50 Best Blogs' awards 2013 run by Inside History. This 76-page bi-monthly magazine, now in its third year, focuses on genealogy and the history and heritage of Australia and New Zealand.
It's produced in Sydney to a highly sophisticated visual spec and is edited by Cassie Mercer, whose many years of editorial experience makes the publication a joy to read.
In the current issue, Jill Ball, who runs the Geniaus blog, and Cassie have put together a list of '50 blogs you need to read' across a number of categories. (I don't know why Irish Genealogy News is in the Professional Genealogists category – I'm not a pro – but I'm not complaining!) As you'd expect, there's a strong Antipodean emphasis, but even those with no connections to Australia and New Zealand would still find plenty to learn and enjoy from these blogs. So take some time out and go exploring.
