National Archives highlights poetic census return

The National Archives of Ireland has posted an unusual and entertaining 1911 census return as its April Document of the Month.

It's the household return of Timothy Kelly, a searcher at the Public Records Office (the precursor of the NAI), who was living in Martin's Row, Dublin, with his wife, Catherine, and four of their six surviving children (four having died). Having completed the form with the information demanded, he decided to treat the enumerator and census officials to a little poem.

Take a look.
