HistoryIreland Nov/Dec issue now available

The November/December issue of HistoryIreland has been published. This month's issue carries articles about the Elizabethan conquest of Ireland, the Home Rule Crisis in Ballymena, official attitudes to communism in Northern Ireland, and a gruesome incident in a Clare churchyard that reflects the belief in fairies in post-famine society.

There's also some interesting news about a new website – MonasticIreland.org – that's going to launch over the winter, a look at the Giant's Causeway Visitor Centre, which opened in the summer, and a good collection of in-depth reviews of recently published history books.

And all for just €6.70 or £6. Great value and highly recommended. Find out more at www.historyireland.com.
