Ulster Examiner joins online British Newspaper Archive

The Ulster Examiner and Northern Star has joined the online British Newspaper Archive (BNA) and its sister database, FindMyPast.

So far, editions available to search and view are those published from 1868, when the title launched as The Ulster Examiner, to 1874, by which time it was known as the Ulster Examiner and Northern Star. The holding will eventually span to 1882, when the paper ceased publication.

This new arrival brings the total number of Irish newspapers in the BNA collection to 174. Of these, just under 50 were published in what is now Northern Ireland.
