Newry & Mourne Museum to host WW1 lecture series

Newry and Mourne Museum is to host a series of lectures on the First World War. Each lecture will be held on a Wednesday evening, starting on 14 January, as follows:

14 January  : Joining up for what? Irish recruitment in WW1, with Professor Keith Jeffery

21 January  : Irish soldiers and the battles of WW1, with Philip Orr

28 January  : The Medical Front, with Dr Robert Whan

4 February  : The Home Front: Newry and Mourne in the Great War, with Dr Robert Whan

11 February : Mourne men and U-boats, with Matt Maginnis

18 February : A sort of homecoming: Irish soldiers & aftermath of WW1, with Dr Myles Dungan

Each lecture will begin at 7:30pm. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served, but booking is essential by telephone to 028 3031 3173 or email.
